A word awaits you -
Listen
for it!
You have heard the texts of sacred Scripture
a thousand times before.
Everyday you are, spoiled by new thrills,
Cast out your nets today!
You haven’t caught anything,
You are bored.
You let the words
go right through you.
You already know everything by heart.
And yet a word, a sentence, a syllable,
or the pause between sentences
Waits
for you
Listen for it again!
God himself
has a word just for now
Listen
here! Listen now!
If you listen attentively and with complete trust,
Then the word that
is on its way to you
will be able to arrive within you.
